THE WHOLESALE GUIDE

The best brief connects the look you want with the details your business needs.

A coordinated ivory and sage dining textile collection

01 / Shape the edit

Choose the categories and designs that fit your store. Record approximate quantities for each item and the country where the goods will be sold.

02 / Define the product

Set finished dimensions, fabric composition, color references and construction details. Specify whether an item is sold individually or in a set.

03 / Review a sample

Assess appearance, handle, stitching and dimensions. Agree any applicable wash, colorfastness or performance checks with the supplier.

04 / Confirm the quote

Review unit pricing, minimum quantities, sample costs, packaging, payment terms and the named delivery term. Confirm what is included.

05 / Approve the reference

Keep an approved sample and written specification. Agree tolerances, labeling, packaging artwork and the quality checks required before dispatch.

06 / Plan the shipment

Confirm carton sizes, gross weights, destination and shipping method. Compare freight alongside duties, taxes and delivery responsibilities.

Private label starts with the details.

If you need your own branding, include artwork, label placement, packaging format and barcode requirements in the brief. Ask about feasibility and minimum quantities before commissioning final artwork. Custom colors, printing and embroidery should be reviewed against a physical sample.

Buying across borders

For shipments from China, ask the quotation to identify the dispatch location, delivery term and estimated packed volume. The destination market may require specific textile labeling or product documentation; identify those requirements before approving production. Transit estimates and production lead times are separate and should both be confirmed in writing.

  • Finished size, construction and agreed tolerances
